Speaker 1: Hello, hello, it's Nadine here, and I'm here with
00:00:05
this week's episode of Life, health and the Universe, and
00:00:09
it's week three of the month.
00:00:11
Jeez, it flies around, doesn't it?
00:00:14
So we're here, we're joined with Laverne for our Guide to
00:00:17
Universal Living and we're up to part five.
00:00:20
So, without further ado, hello Laverne, hello Nadine I'm trying
00:00:27
to deepen my voice because every time I start this show, I
00:00:32
seem to go a bit squeaky on you, and I'll share this.
00:00:37
Nadine and I have a quick chat before we start the show, and I
00:00:41
said I keep working through my Chiron.
00:00:43
Each time I come on the show.
00:00:44
I'm a Chiron and Pisces, and so it's really interesting.
00:00:54
Every time I join this show, my throat plays up, so I'm smiling
00:00:57
at myself as I join this, a guide to universal living.
00:00:59
So today we're actually going to be talking about my perception
00:01:05
of spirituality in the 21st century and, nadine, welcome you
00:01:10
interjecting with that as I take us on a bit of a journey of
00:01:14
how I see spirituality in the 21st century, because, you know,
00:01:20
to me spirituality means different things for different
00:01:24
people, for different people, and different people are
00:01:27
experiencing their spirituality in a different way.
00:01:29
But now more than ever, there is an awakening on the planet
00:01:36
We've touched on this in previous shows and there's this
00:01:39
real awakening process as we awaken individually and
00:01:44
collectively.
00:01:45
It's sometimes hard to navigate and know how we can help
00:01:51
ourselves and make sense of it all.
00:01:53
But I want to preface this by stating it really doesn't matter
00:02:00
what landscape you live in, what experiences are your trials
00:02:05
, your tribulations, your faith, your belief system, your
00:02:10
religion, if any.
00:02:11
The true essence of spirituality is a universal
00:02:17
principle of teachings and it goes beyond religion, it goes
00:02:22
beyond politics and it goes beyond politics and it goes
00:02:26
beyond gender, and really it's a journey of self-discovery of
00:02:31
who we are and who we see ourselves as.
00:02:34
And then it's a journey of understanding that we are all
00:02:39
connected.
00:02:39
And more and more I love the fact that so many people are
00:02:41
talking to, and more and more I love the fact that so many
00:02:43
people are talking to.
00:02:44
You know, we are all connected, we are all part of the whole,
00:02:48
we are all one For each of us.
00:03:07
That definition of journey of spirituality and coming to a
00:03:08
state of oneness.
00:03:08
For some they may still struggle with that when they see
00:03:09
how humans, we respond to each other in daily life, but my
00:03:10
belief system believes that we are one and that we are on a
00:03:13
journey of self-discovery of ourselves and each other and
00:03:18
it's that reconnection with ourself and it's our
00:03:23
reconnection with each other and , beyond this reality, any
00:03:28
barriers that we might feel towards spirituality are more
00:03:32
likely to drop away.
00:03:33
So it's really well, where do we begin?
00:03:37
You know where do we begin this conversation?
00:03:41
And, um, it was something you said in a text to me.
00:03:44
I said, oh yeah, I hadn't really thought about taking that
00:03:46
approach because I wasn't going to take the approach.
00:03:48
And she said you really should talk about your own journey,
00:03:51
laverne.
00:03:51
And you know, sort of I changed tact after you sent that text
00:03:59
because when I look back and reflect back on my own personal
00:04:03
journey over the last 34 years, you know there will be aspects
00:04:07
to it Some may find it resonates for them and where someone else
00:04:12
is on the journey of their own path of understanding what
00:04:16
spirituality means for them.
00:04:19
But interestingly, before I do that, I stumbled on I don't know
00:04:24
if you heard of Sat Guru.
00:04:25
He's an Indian spiritual teacher and he's quite prominent
00:04:29
on Instagram and there was something I stumbled on that
00:04:33
really sort of resonated for me.
00:04:34
I thought I like this, I'm going to introduce this into
00:04:38
this particular podcast, and he said something along the lines
00:04:43
that what truly ties us all together is one common thread,
00:04:50
and he went on to say that that is we all want to be happy, we
00:04:56
all want to be healthy, we want to care, be careful, we want
00:05:03
loving relationships with equality, and we want love,
00:05:07
peace, joy and purpose.
00:05:09
And then he went on to say which I found even more
00:05:14
interesting, overriding all these things, we all want
00:05:18
balance.
00:05:18
And he said when balance is experienced in our body, we call
00:05:25
this health and wellness.
00:05:26
When balance is experienced in our mind, we call this peace and
00:05:31
joy.
00:05:32
When balance is experienced in our emotions, we call this love
00:05:40
and compassion.
00:05:41
And when balance is experienced in our energy and consciousness
00:05:46
, we call this blissfulness and ecstasy.
00:05:50
And balance is experienced in the world around us and we
00:05:56
experience balance in our connection to it.
00:05:59
We call this unity.
00:06:02
And it sort of really resonated for me a lot and I thought well
00:06:08
, that's a really simple way of experiencing spirituality and
00:06:16
actually working towards these levels of balance.
00:06:20
So it felt like it really, in some ways, it encapsulated my
00:06:24
own journey and it was beautifully summarized in a few
00:06:27
lines.
00:06:28
So, from my personal perspective and my spiritual journey, from
00:06:33
an early age I was interested in finding natural ways to
00:06:37
maintain a sense of inner balance, good health and
00:06:40
well-being.
00:06:41
So I went on exploration through meditation, creative
00:06:46
visualizations.
00:06:47
I was working with affirmations in my late teens and twenties
00:06:53
which really helped me find inner balance.
00:06:56
And then, over time, I had a desire to dig deeper because,
00:07:01
you know, I was starting to experience myself and my
00:07:06
relationship with the world differently.
00:07:08
So I really wanted to to take the next step in my life and
00:07:14
explore philosophy and I explored parapsychology, which
00:07:20
is metaphysics.
00:07:22
I started to explore energy tools to deepen my understanding
00:07:28
of myself and the world around me and I even actually embarked
00:07:33
on I started a degree in holistic kinesiology and halfway
00:07:38
through that I was sort of in my early 30s at this point.
00:07:42
It was through that journey, or my journey to that point, that
00:07:49
I then found Transference Healing.
00:07:52
But I also want to mention actually, you know, sport
00:07:57
actually played a really big part in my life and that really
00:08:02
supported my balance and finding equilibrium, because it's from
00:08:09
this point that we are able to experience more that inner peace
00:08:14
and state of harmony.
00:08:16
But as I travel through you know my journey and, as I said, I
00:08:21
got to the point that I was studying holistic kinesiology.
00:08:26
It was at that point I found myself asking bigger questions
00:08:30
like who am I, why am I here, what is my purpose?
00:08:34
And it was during this period of my life that I found
00:08:39
Transcendence Healing and I knew immediately I needed to learn
00:08:42
about it, which took me on a massive trajectory of my
00:08:48
personal and spiritual growth through the practice of
00:08:51
transplants healing.
00:08:52
So my spiritual journey led me to this point today, where we
00:08:58
are.
00:08:58
You know, you and I talk about different things and I really
00:09:02
see myself today as a global advocate, yes, of Transference
00:09:06
Healing, because I am a 19-year veteran of the energy system and
00:09:13
I now find myself in a position that I support others in their
00:09:18
spiritual awakening and, you know, their pursuit of
00:09:23
self-healing and self-mastery.
00:09:26
So, you know, if you asked me 10 , 20, 30 years ago what I'd be
00:09:34
doing today, I definitely didn't think I'd be doing this.
00:09:37
You know, I definitely didn't think I'd be, you know,
00:09:41
compelled to talk about spirituality, compelled to show
00:09:48
other people ways that they can self-heal and self-master and
00:09:53
support people through their awakening process.
00:09:55
There's no way I would have seen myself in this position.
00:09:57
But, um, you can see, it was a very steady, gradual journey.
00:10:03
I didn't suddenly wake up one night from a bang on the head
00:10:09
and decided this is what I needed to do.
00:10:11
It was a very natural journey.
00:10:14
Can I ask you?
00:10:17
So, when I was talking, when we were messaging, and I said I
00:10:22
think it would be really good for the listeners to hear more
00:10:26
about you, I think I want, I would love, if you're open to it
00:10:32
, to hear about the other side of Laverne, because I think that
00:10:36
for many people and I probably would include, would have
00:10:41
included myself in this I you kind of have a picture of what
00:10:47
spiritual people are and probably what you do now.
00:10:50
Right, that's the picture that people have.
00:10:52
So, yes, you've had this massive journey over a period of
00:10:57
time and it's been a process and, depending on what's
00:11:00
happening in our lives, things click and you're like now I get
00:11:06
it right, what people have been saying or what I've heard, but
00:11:12
often I think maybe this was just my experience previously
00:11:16
you have people who are spiritual, who do the sorts of
00:11:20
things that you do transference, healing, you know, using
00:11:23
crystals, reading, reading horoscopes, doing all of those
00:11:28
things and you have everyone else, but you were the everyone
00:11:33
else as well.
00:11:33
You worked in corporate.
00:11:35
So what I would love to hear is like, because I think, well,
00:11:42
just because I want to know what it was like, but also like, how
00:11:50
did you make that shift?
00:11:51
Like that's a big change, right ?
00:11:53
How do people respond to you?
00:11:57
I just think, well, take us back to when you were working in
00:12:04
the corporate world.
00:12:05
What?
00:12:05
Well, you know, I still see myself in the business world.
00:12:10
Um, in many ways, you know, um, I think the key connection point
00:12:16
of understanding needs to be more along the lines when you
00:12:21
say, okay, you know, in your late teens, early 20s, you were
00:12:25
meditating, you were working with affirmations.
00:12:28
I was working through that process.
00:12:31
You know I was.
00:12:32
You know, in those days I was working in the hotel industry,
00:12:35
right?
00:12:36
So really, it was more of a compelling.
00:12:40
Well, I want to go into my workplace, the best version of
00:12:43
myself, and so I can be in service to people, albeit in a
00:12:48
hotel front office desk, you know, greeting people as they
00:12:51
checked into the hotel, as the example.
00:12:55
You know, I just wanted to be the best version of myself and
00:12:59
the way that I found myself doing that is through meditating
00:13:04
, through working with affirmations and so that I would
00:13:07
whatever, you know, uh, emotions were coming up.
00:13:14
For me, you know, as we go through our growing pains,
00:13:17
through our 20s, trying to identify who we are in our 20s
00:13:20
and identify who we are in our 30s and identify who we are in
00:13:24
our 40s, just really the compelling thing was I just
00:13:28
wanted to be a really good human being, I wanted to be in
00:13:31
service.
00:13:31
I feel to try and cut to the chase, you don't have to do what
00:13:36
I'm doing.
00:13:37
You can do these things in parallel, because anything you
00:13:43
do and I've touched on and what I'm going to be talking about,
00:13:47
which feeds into your question on a whole nother level and
00:13:51
gives a perspective of what spirituality looks like in the
00:13:55
21st century and this is what we should, all you know, get
00:14:00
behind was really I just wanted to be the best human being I
00:14:05
could possibly be, be in service .
00:14:07
And being in service doesn't have to be doing.
00:14:10
What I do through the podcast series and my private practice
00:14:15
you know I do work in the business world still is to find
00:14:21
what that spiritual essence of self is in one's own life.
00:14:27
And if you're in the business world is, how can I apply that
00:14:32
to my job, to my role, to the people I connect with in the
00:14:38
business.
00:14:39
You know, if I'm a leader in the business and I touched on
00:14:43
this in one of the podcasts, I think it may have been the very
00:14:47
first one we ever did together I don't have to be professing.
00:14:52
You know, spirituality in the context of energy and
00:14:57
consciousness.
00:14:58
If I'm a leader in the business world and I have really got a
00:15:03
strong connection with myself and that connection out into my
00:15:06
team, to me that's an act of spirituality.
00:15:10
Whatever that journey is and I'm going to be talking about
00:15:14
different examples shortly we can all do that.
00:15:18
It's not all about everyone.
00:15:20
Moving out of the business world and becoming spiritual
00:15:23
teachers is about being where you are in the world.
00:15:28
You know, whether you're an architect, ceo, salesperson,
00:15:32
admin person, whatever role you're playing in in the world
00:15:38
is how can I be in service in within that role?
00:15:42
And I'm going to talk to that in more detail.
00:15:45
Okay, because I believe people awaken to their spirituality in
00:15:52
their own time and when they are ready to take the next step,
00:15:59
they'll step more into what spirituality means for them.
00:16:02
Now we've talked about my journey, so it's really
00:16:05
important that we don't compare ourselves with others and well,
00:16:09
the verb must be more spiritual because she's doing these things
00:16:13
.
00:16:13
I'm less spiritual because I'm in the corporate world.
00:16:16
Well, I'm hoping this podcast will poo-poo that.
00:16:21
I'm also a firm believer that we can express and experience our
00:16:26
spirituality in many ways.
00:16:28
So there's not one way, there's not one path.
00:16:33
We must find our spirituality in a way that resonates for us.
00:16:38
So what does that look like you ?
00:16:42
For me, I see acts of spirituality everywhere, all the
00:16:47
time.
00:16:48
So my journey is an example of quite a practical practical in
00:16:54
many ways in terms of approach.
00:16:57
But my perspective of spirituality in the 21st century
00:17:00
is broader than we generally would associate what
00:17:03
spirituality is, because we often associate spirituality, as
00:17:09
you know, visiting a physical place of worship, you know, such
00:17:14
as a church, basilica, mosque, temple or similar, we often
00:17:20
associate with spirituality and the type of work that I'm doing.
00:17:24
But more than ever, there's a practice of spirituality that we
00:17:31
can find outside these traditional houses of worship.
00:17:35
And it's interesting, it was only the other day I stumbled on
00:17:38
a quote by Rumi and he said I looked in the temples, the
00:17:46
churches and mosques.
00:17:47
I found the divine within me.
00:17:50
So you know, let me give some examples of how I see the
00:17:57
practice of spirituality in the 21st century and one of the most
00:18:01
fundamental ones that I see regularly is acts of kindness.
00:18:07
You know, these acts of kindness , to me, are the best act of
00:18:11
spirituality, or spiritual practice, because acts of
00:18:16
kindness tend to be spontaneous, don't they?
00:18:20
They're in the moment and they're, in that moment, acts of
00:18:26
compassion towards another human being.
00:18:29
So if that's not spirituality, I don't know what is is when you
00:18:43
see an opportunity to offer an act of kindness, then to me
00:18:50
you're practicing spirituality.
00:18:52
An aspect, an essence of spirituality is, you know,
00:18:57
compassion towards another human being.
00:18:59
You know, because it's not premeditated, that it's pure,
00:19:04
it's an instinctual act of love and this is an attribute of the
00:19:09
highest teachings for attainment we can bestow ourselves.
00:19:12
So when I look at examples of active kindness, it could be
00:19:18
simply helping an elderly person across the road, or it could be
00:19:23
a gesture of a smile or kind word when you see a stranger or
00:19:28
someone you know that is struggling in their life, and
00:19:34
that kind word can lift that person's human spirit just when
00:19:41
they really need it, need it.
00:19:48
And you know, I guess the bigger version of acts of kindness is
00:19:50
when we you know, when we see a catastrophe going on in the
00:19:51
world, how quickly you see humanity, a sense of humanity
00:19:57
that wants to reach out and help another in some way.
00:20:01
You know, to me it's very compelling attributes for me of
00:20:08
what spirituality really is.
00:20:10
So when I see these actions around me, to me they are subtle
00:20:16
, often they go unnoticed, often they're unacknowledged if
00:20:21
that's a word, I think so but for me they are absolutely
00:20:27
essences of spirituality and what spirituality teaches.
00:20:31
So, beyond the simple act of kindness that we can all
00:20:37
practice in daily life, and if that's all we do, to me we're
00:20:42
contributing to the world and humanity were contributing to
00:20:46
the world and humanity.
00:20:47
But you can see other acts of spirituality in daily rituals.
00:20:53
You know I talked about meditation, yoga, martial arts.
00:20:57
You know you could name a whole host of different modalities.
00:21:05
These are spiritual acts.
00:21:06
People that do these things are more conscious of this.
00:21:09
But whether you're more mainstream in any of these areas
00:21:13
, what the human nature is doing is really accessing their inner
00:21:23
nature and they're looking at how they respond to life and
00:21:26
they're using yoga practice or martial arts or meditation to
00:21:33
support that process of clearing of whatever that you know is
00:21:37
coming up for them.
00:21:38
And, and you know, these practices are beautiful ways to
00:21:42
to work through what we need to work through.
00:21:45
You know I sit in nature and I'm in awe of the earth and the
00:21:49
natural beauty that surrounds us .
00:21:51
And when I do, I'm often reminded of the amazing human
00:21:56
beings who are conservationists of our planet.
00:22:01
And you know they're not only protecting the planet and
00:22:05
aspects of the planet, it's about protecting flora, it's
00:22:08
about protecting the animal kingdom.
00:22:11
So we're a greater example of spirituality.
00:22:16
And whilst most of us aren't, you know, actively
00:22:20
conservationists, you know we don't go out and do that for a
00:22:23
living.
00:22:23
You know it reminds me that we can all play our own part in
00:22:30
that, no matter how small.
00:22:31
And for me it would be going into my garden and nurturing my
00:22:34
garden and creating beauty and nurturing the soil and feeding
00:22:39
the soil so the plants can grow.
00:22:41
And if I don't have a garden, well, it might be that I've got
00:22:45
some potted plants around the house and nurturing nature
00:22:48
through that way.
00:22:49
But you know we walk through life and more and more we're
00:22:52
becoming more conscious about the impact we have on the planet
00:22:56
, which we are connected to.
00:22:59
We are part of the planet, the planet is part of us.
00:23:02
So we all have a way that we can contribute by just being
00:23:08
conscious.
00:23:09
Well, what is my imprint on the planet as I walk my path, and
00:23:14
it could be simply the products we buy.
00:23:16
You know, making sure we pick up our rubbish and dealt with in
00:23:19
the most effective way.
00:23:20
So when we connect with Mother Earth, when we connect with
00:23:35
nature nature supporting us in coming into balance, the way we
00:23:41
support nature in our activities are are truly, in my mind, acts
00:23:48
of spirituality, because you know, it's important part of of
00:23:53
our state of being.
00:23:54
And so, you know, when we connect with nature, most people
00:23:58
may not realize that we're consciously or unconsciously
00:24:02
connecting with Mother Earth.
00:24:04
We're connecting with Gaia, we're connecting to the goddess
00:24:10
aspect of spiritual teachings, which is a whole podcast in
00:24:14
itself, which hopefully I'll get to at some point.
00:24:17
So, whether we're conscious of some of the actions and
00:24:23
activities we are participating in, you know we all can play our
00:24:29
part.
00:24:30
Um, you know there are many people that love rituals and
00:24:37
ceremony.
00:24:38
You know of all types and forms .
00:24:42
You know inch that really tap into ancient teachings.
00:24:45
You know there are shamans.
00:24:46
You know that really tap into ancient teachings.
00:24:47
You know there are shamans.
00:24:48
You know our indigenous communities and the way they
00:24:53
work with the earth, connecting with the earth and nature.
00:24:56
You know there are many people that like to go on a journey to
00:25:01
connect with sacred sites.
00:25:03
There are a whole group of people that like to preserve
00:25:08
sacred sites of all kinds and you know that hold a very
00:25:14
beautiful spiritual symbolism and ancient wisdom that they
00:25:19
acknowledge and, you know, support and nurture.
00:25:24
So again, to me this is another example of spirituality.
00:25:31
So, to finish my story and you know, come full circle as I went
00:25:39
on my own spiritual journey to this point, it's been incredible
00:25:44
.
00:25:44
You know it's been an incredible journey and you know
00:25:47
I've practiced what I've experienced and learned.
00:25:51
You know, whether I was in the business world or not, in the
00:25:56
business world, I still practiced those principal
00:25:59
teachings, let's call it that.
00:26:01
You know whether it's through meditation, you know firming
00:26:05
what I want, invocation through prayer, and that supported my
00:26:12
journey through business life as well as where I am today.
00:26:17
So where I'm at in my spiritual journey is that.
00:26:21
You know, from this point on, it's really about a continuation
00:26:28
, really, of everything I've experienced and the continuation
00:26:33
of self-discovery.
00:26:34
And you know you've heard me talk about.
00:26:37
You know I'm compelled to learn more about the high tensions of
00:26:43
spirituality.
00:26:43
I feel very compelled to learn more about self-healing and
00:26:49
self-mastery within my mind, body, soul and spirit.
00:26:52
I feel compelled at this point of my spiritual journey to learn
00:26:57
about the multi-dimensional aspect of myself, and even
00:27:02
inter-dimensional aspect of myself, but really learning
00:27:07
about my divinity, you know, these are the higher teachings
00:27:11
and the higher expressions of spirituality that we can all
00:27:16
journey towards if we feel compelled to.
00:27:19
And so what that looks like for me on a practical level today
00:27:23
is, you know, on a day-to-day level, it's a continuous
00:27:27
learning about energy and consciousness and how that plays
00:27:33
out in daily life.
00:27:35
It's a learning about alchemy, you know, and how I create
00:27:41
alchemy in my body and consciousness, you know.
00:27:45
For me, it's about learning about the goddess and the
00:27:49
spiritual teachings of the goddess, which is really coming
00:27:55
to the forefront now more than ever.
00:27:57
It's about learning about the psyche and how the psyche plays
00:28:04
its part in our spiritual ascension, or my spiritual
00:28:08
ascension.
00:28:09
And so for me, it's now about strengthening my connection to
00:28:13
spirit beyond this reality.
00:28:16
It's about my connection to the universe, and the way I do this
00:28:23
is through my practice of surrendering to my higher self,
00:28:29
you know, so that I can connect more and more to my divine
00:28:34
essence.
00:28:34
And that takes me on a journey of embodying my divine self
00:28:41
while here on earth, you know that's where I'm at in my
00:28:46
journey.
00:28:46
While here on earth, you know that's where I'm at in my
00:28:49
journey, but that wasn't where my intention or understanding of
00:28:52
what I was trying to achieve when I set out 40 years ago.
00:28:54
This is where I am currently.
00:28:56
This is a very compelling spiritual practice for me, but
00:29:01
not everyone feels drawn to that .
00:29:04
So it's about what aspect of spiritual experience can each of
00:29:11
us create for ourselves that resonates for ourselves.
00:29:16
That truly, you know, is an essence of spirituality.
00:29:20
That then takes that person on their own journey of exploring
00:29:27
what spirituality is for them.
00:29:29
So, while I continue on my path , you know it's about for me,
00:29:37
about embodying my divine gifts and talents, is about being a
00:29:41
pure instrument of light, which for a lot of people might make
00:29:47
no sense at all and it's about supporting others to on their
00:29:52
path, becoming more empowered in a way that resonates for them
00:29:57
so that they can embody their light.
00:30:01
I feel like in our relationship together, I'm a.
00:30:07
I feel like I'm a translator, you know, definitely, um.
00:30:12
So like I try, and I'm trying to sort of take some of the
00:30:19
things you're saying like, again , I've written down 700 million
00:30:22
things and we won't be able to go into all of them today, but
00:30:26
they there.
00:30:26
But what I try and do is take some of the things that you're
00:30:29
saying and then translate them into kind of um, everyday
00:30:37
language, because I still feel like, although you know,
00:30:40
hopefully the listeners they've taken in the last few episodes
00:30:43
that we've done together, but there's still some lingo right,
00:30:47
there's language that might not resonate, I guess.
00:30:52
I mean even the word spirituality and I know you've
00:30:55
gone into, you know spent time right then explaining what it
00:31:00
means for you and how it can be presented to us on an everyday
00:31:07
level.
00:31:07
And yeah, I think it's like from what you said.
00:31:15
You know, when it's like that, it's being kind, like as humans,
00:31:19
we are kind.
00:31:21
So there's so one thing I would love to talk about not quite yet
00:31:25
, because there's a couple of things I want to say is like
00:31:29
what do you think has happened?
00:31:32
Where have we gone wrong?
00:31:34
How have we gone wrong so far away from that kindness element
00:31:41
that's taken us out of balance?
00:31:42
It's taken us out of balance.
00:31:45
That spirituality is actually what we're trying to say with
00:31:49
spirituality when we talk about it and you know you're talking
00:31:55
about ascension and awakening.
00:31:56
It's like the awakening for me is the absolute necessity that
00:32:06
we need to get back into balance , because we're talking about
00:32:13
yes, we are, we are living.
00:32:15
This is Guide to Universal Living.
00:32:18
We are living as a planetary community, right, because we're
00:32:24
connected in so many ways, has its gifts, but it also has its
00:32:29
um downfalls.
00:32:30
So we talk, there's these words that come up and, if I can try
00:32:35
and kind of string it all together, we're out of balance.
00:32:39
And one of the reasons we're out of balance is because of
00:32:44
these are words that are coming up more and more trauma.
00:32:48
Yeah, we need to heal ourselves, we need to understand what's
00:32:54
triggering us.
00:32:55
We need to do that as individuals and I think even
00:33:00
from a health perspective, like taking care of our bodies, can
00:33:05
help us take.
00:33:05
That's a spiritual practice, right?
00:33:08
Because when we take care of our bodies, we have clarity of
00:33:13
mind, we can become more aware as individuals about the
00:33:17
elements of ourselves that we need to heal.
00:33:20
That's individual, but we are each a fragment of the whole,
00:33:31
and so when you hear that phrase , I am whole.
00:33:35
It's not just about us, it's like I am part of a whole.
00:33:40
So there's this need to get back into balance.
00:33:45
So we're awakening, we are having a realization.
00:33:51
And this is part of our spiritual, the part of the
00:33:55
spirituality it's like innate in us.
00:33:59
It's within us that we are awakening because we need to
00:34:03
heal, and when we heal us we heal the whole, and the whole
00:34:11
isn't just people, it's the planet.
00:34:16
So, let's, can we do you have other stuff that you've got that
00:34:21
you want to cover off on?
00:34:22
Or can we kind of let's, let's, let's go down that path?
00:34:26
And I, I touched on um, I sort of more expressed it from uh,
00:34:33
the goddess teachings, what?
00:34:35
When we descended as a world community, we went on the
00:34:42
exploration on a whole nother level, disconnected to our
00:34:47
higher aspect of self.
00:34:49
When you say that, do you like, as we become sorry, more of a
00:34:55
global community with technology and that sort of stuff, is that
00:34:59
what sorry?
00:34:59
Is that what the original dissension happened in Atlantean
00:35:03
times?
00:35:03
Yeah, I'm talking about eons, okay, so when we became
00:35:06
disconnected, we disconnected from spirit and higher aspect of
00:35:11
herself, right, that innate ability of connection and
00:35:20
intuition, and then there's levels of that into the psyche
00:35:24
to respond to what is going on around us.
00:35:29
So we started playing out more of the masculine principle, the,
00:35:33
the masculine aspect of self, and through that process.
00:35:38
We were out of balance because we weren't working with the
00:35:41
feminine principle and this is a whole podcast in itself.
00:35:45
Through that process you know that created a whole lot of
00:35:49
experiences over many, many eons of time we were no longer able
00:35:54
to heal in the moment.
00:35:55
We'd forgotten that ability which is part of the feminine
00:35:59
principle ability to heal in the self, tune into ourselves and
00:36:04
know what we needed in the moment to clear.
00:36:07
That aspect of self got lost.
00:36:10
So when we talk about balance, where we are today is we are
00:36:17
being woken up, so to speak, to the feminine aspect, the
00:36:23
feminine principle, and through that process, bring back into
00:36:29
balance our masculine and feminine aspects of self.
00:36:33
So bring those two into balance masculine and feminine aspects
00:36:37
of self.
00:36:37
So bring those two into balance .
00:36:38
And so the types of things we talk about is, well you know,
00:36:41
working with the intuition.
00:36:42
So, rather than just acting on the rational mind and saying, oh
00:36:46
, I've got to do this before we act on something, how we bring
00:36:50
the feminine aspect of self back into balance is we say, we go
00:36:55
in and we tune and say, well, does this feel right?
00:36:59
Should I be taking this step?
00:37:01
Should I be going that direction or that direction.
00:37:04
So because we lost that, we got more, more down the path of
00:37:10
disunity, disconnection, and then that played out in so many
00:37:17
ways which we don't have time to really talk about.
00:37:19
You know, really the awakening process is awakening to the
00:37:25
feminine aspect of self, which is not about male, female.
00:37:29
The feminine principle, the goddess teachings of coming back
00:37:34
to working with um, our ability and tapping into our ability to
00:37:41
heal whatever is rising for us and come back into balance
00:37:46
through that process and working with energy and tapping into
00:37:50
nature and the elements of nature and elements of the
00:37:54
universe, is the practice of the feminine way, the goddess
00:38:00
teachings, right, which we don't have a huge amount of time to
00:38:03
talk to.
00:38:05
So I'm not sure if I answered your question.
00:38:07
I sort of went off on a tangent because it's quite a big
00:38:10
question and I guess the topic, yeah, that when, that, when we I
00:38:15
mean we see a whole bunch of stuff going on on the planet now
00:38:19
and we do have a lot more exposure to all of that stuff
00:38:22
because of the internet, because of, you know, that global
00:38:35
community, um, but does it come out of um fear?
00:38:42
Yeah, so the rational mind, it tends to be where we play out
00:38:51
fear, because we're working from the rational mind.
00:38:54
We're so working what's happening in right in front of
00:38:58
us.
00:38:58
We can't truly see a way forward other than through.
00:39:04
You know the way we tend to respond to things in the world
00:39:08
today.
00:39:09
So the awakening process is in support.
00:39:12
Say, well, if I can find balance in myself because it
00:39:17
starts with a self you mentioned that and really come to that
00:39:20
point of stillness and balance within and then responding from
00:39:26
that, well, all the things that are happening in the world
00:39:28
wouldn't be happening, would they right?
00:39:30
So we lost that connection with the self on that level.
00:39:35
But we're all reconnecting to that Now.
00:39:39
The polarity of that is obviously, yes, we're seeing a
00:39:42
lot of chaos, we're seeing a lot of trauma being released.
00:39:47
The polarity opposite to that is people saying I don't want
00:39:52
that, I don't want that, what can I do for myself?
00:40:01
That supports the stabilizing and balancing of that.
00:40:02
You know polarity and it really , as I say from a spiritual
00:40:07
perspective, it really starts with the self will come back
00:40:11
into balance with yourself.
00:40:13
Keep clearing within yourself whatever is coming up for you,
00:40:17
practice your connection and understanding your connection
00:40:22
with other people through simple acts and simple activities and
00:40:26
we touched on those things, the balancing and then ascension of
00:40:40
the planet, and then the dissolving of the negative
00:40:41
activities that seem to to be, you know, leading the way.
00:40:43
I think it's really important.
00:40:46
We, we only hear about all the negative stuff, don't we?
00:40:49
Yeah, and I like to came to balance and say, well, there's a
00:40:54
polarity, there's a polarity right.
00:40:56
So if there's that much negativity that we think we're
00:40:59
seeing or perceiving, the polarity opposite is also
00:41:03
occurring and we need to seek that out.
00:41:05
There's as much beauty, there is much kindness, there is much
00:41:13
good will going on in the world in balance with that.
00:41:18
But we don't see that.
00:41:21
So my intention today was to say what can we do as a human race,
00:41:27
what can we do as a global community?
00:41:30
That is simple, that is bite-sized pieces, you know,
00:41:35
bite-sized pieces that is practical and feel.
00:41:39
Well, I am building my own sense of spirituality and what
00:41:44
it means for me, and there's a way that I can do that.
00:41:48
And you know I've given some examples of just a simple of act
00:41:52
of kindness nurturing the garden, nurturing your neighbor,
00:41:55
looking after your neighbor, you know, working on yourself,
00:41:59
which we've sort of covered.
00:42:00
We're covering more in different podcasts.
00:42:02
You know we've sort of talked I wanted to look at it from a
00:42:05
different angle today to say what are the simple things I can
00:42:09
do in my own journey of understanding who I am.
00:42:13
And it's through that natural evolution process and I've used
00:42:15
my own journey of understanding who I am and it's through that
00:42:16
natural evolution process and I've used my own spiritual
00:42:20
journey as an example the step changes we can make, and through
00:42:27
that process we just naturally open up.
00:42:30
And then, you know, as we become ready, we see or seek
00:42:36
something more right.
00:42:38
And so where I am at in my personal journey, millions of
00:42:42
other people are on the same understanding is I'm now looking
00:42:48
at it more from a higher perspective and how can I
00:42:52
support others in their process?
00:42:55
And there is no.
00:42:57
You know, it doesn't matter where that person is in their
00:43:02
journey because it's a simple act that we do day to day.
00:43:07
It's the acts of kindness, it's the nurturing of the garden,
00:43:11
it's the being the conservationist, it's the doing
00:43:16
sacred practices on sacred land.
00:43:19
You know, it's the being the naturopath, it's being the ceo
00:43:24
that's so connected with the self that they then lead their
00:43:29
team around them into you know, amazing experiences of what that
00:43:36
business can create.
00:43:37
You know, um, it's how we, how we apply our spirituality that
00:43:42
takes us on the path of our next step and what we're ready to
00:43:46
receive or embark on.
00:43:49
And so really, uh, for me, is about the session is really
00:43:55
about trying to recognize, well, where are we on the path and
00:43:58
there's many ways that we can express our spirituality, you
00:44:03
know and finding what resonates for the individual and that they
00:44:09
continue on their path.
00:44:11
Because it doesn't matter how small a role we play.
00:44:15
If everyone on the planet walked out of their front door
00:44:19
tomorrow and recognized there was someone that was in need of
00:44:23
help, no matter how small, we are creating a shift, aren't we?
00:44:29
We're creating a positive shift .
00:44:31
We're supporting our, not only our own ascension, but the
00:44:36
ascension of the planet through that practice.
00:44:39
So if we guided to pick up meditation or we're guided to to
00:44:45
experience yoga, we're all playing our part to support the
00:44:53
ascension process of the planet, you know.
00:44:56
So, whatever part we can play daily will lead us on our
00:45:03
ascension path and will open us up, support our own awakening
00:45:09
process.
00:45:10
And whilst you know someone like myself well, you know I'm
00:45:14
experiencing it or seeking to experience it on a whole.
00:45:18
Nother level right, so there, but there's no right or wrong.
00:45:22
There is no right or wrong.
00:45:24
So, really, spirituality in the 21st century, we can recognize
00:45:29
that we all have our part to play, and it's really start
00:45:33
stems from know, creating that inner balance, and then our
00:45:38
connection with another human being, and then whatever other
00:45:43
practices we choose, and that just takes us on a continued
00:45:47
journey, doesn't it?
00:45:49
Yeah, I think what, uh, something that's really standing
00:45:53
out for me in what you're saying and just that's been sort
00:45:57
of standing out for me as I go on my own journey, is that
00:46:09
there's a temptation almost to go into that spiritual world and
00:46:18
not come out.
00:46:19
Do you know what I mean?
00:46:22
Because there's so much shit going on, like I'm just happy
00:46:26
over here doing my thing, um, but one thing that's really um
00:46:33
stood out for.
00:46:35
You've been saying, and I think that probably, as if you like,
00:46:39
depending on the depth, that you go into a spiritual practice or
00:46:43
, like you know, delve into spirituality in whatever
00:46:47
modality that is, I think it's probably part of the process
00:46:51
that you kind of go out there.
00:46:54
But when we're learning, there's a, there's an important aspect
00:46:58
where we need to bring it back in to the 3d and we yes, we have
00:47:05
, like you've talked about the fifth dimension and and.
00:47:08
But currently we are living in the third and we yes, we can,
00:47:16
you know, have practices that help us to access those other
00:47:19
dimensions.
00:47:20
Um, and, guys, if you haven't listened to that one, go back
00:47:24
and check that one out.
00:47:25
Um, fifth dimensional, uh, living in a fifth dimensional
00:47:29
reality.
00:47:29
I think the episode was called um.
00:47:33
But we are living like humans, so let's not forget about those
00:47:39
everyday practices that we can do, let's, and we don't.
00:47:43
You don't, I mean, you've chosen to um, make transference,
00:47:49
healing, your spiritual practice and your job.
00:47:52
Yeah, right, um, we don't all have to do that, no, but we can,
00:47:59
and we don't have to tell everyone about what we're doing
00:48:02
or what we're, you know, if we are meditating and that sort of
00:48:05
thing, like you said.
00:48:06
But bringing it back into that everyday experience, um, that in
00:48:12
our day, yeah, in our daily lives, like those things that we
00:48:15
can do that will help us become better humans, um to so that we
00:48:21
can, uh, I mean, nadine, imagine.
00:48:25
So you're right, and I guess my underlying message is it
00:48:35
doesn't matter what path we walk and how we walk that path If
00:48:43
our main objective is to find that inner balance, that peace,
00:48:51
harmony, joy, harmony, joy and really tap into that pure
00:48:55
essence of who we all already are.
00:48:58
You can't be anything else but other and connect out into world
00:49:04
that way.
00:49:05
So it really does start with the self and all you do is try
00:49:09
and keep refining yourself.
00:49:10
And, yes, we've talked about in other podcasts about clearing
00:49:15
all pain, but that whole refinement in the self, and you
00:49:19
know, if we were choosing to meditate and everyone on the
00:49:23
planet was meditating and even you know we all recognize okay,
00:49:27
I might run a few energy procedures because that's
00:49:29
supporting me on a whole other level Imagine everyone on the
00:49:34
planet know doing that how different the experience it
00:49:41
would already be.
00:49:42
Yeah, but you know, it's the simple little acts that we all
00:49:46
do each day that will support us to move and evolve from, you
00:49:53
know, the third dimensional experiences and we're living.
00:49:57
Yes, that, then, that's supporting the whole to ascend,
00:50:02
isn't it?
00:50:02
We're supporting the whole.
00:50:04
So it's our, each of our parts that we can play in that.
00:50:07
And really, you know, the highest spiritual point of
00:50:13
teaching is really coming into a state of unity with them.
00:50:18
But coming into a state of unity with each other, yeah, and
00:50:25
when the planet and everyone on it hits that point, that's when
00:50:31
we'll be truly living like the next golden age, you know.
00:50:35
So, really, that's the journey we're on, and so, for me, it's
00:50:41
about accepting that we all have our journey and experiencing
00:50:47
our spirituality in different ways, but really coming back to
00:50:51
that point of, you know, balance within and balance perspective
00:50:56
towards others, and allowing each other to express themselves
00:51:00
in their own unique way, that we can find a way to come back
00:51:05
into unity.
00:51:07
Yeah, one thing that I've um found really quite well it can
00:51:14
be quite confronting, but quite helpful as well is this idea of
00:51:18
um, what we see in other people is what we have in ourselves,
00:51:24
and therefore, you know, if you're, if people I guess if
00:51:27
you're being, um taken care of, people are being kind to you,
00:51:33
then that's a reflection of how you are in the world.
00:51:37
When there's someone who behaves in a certain way and it
00:51:41
might not be, you know, for another person, it might mean
00:51:46
nothing, but if we are triggered by it, if we get a response
00:51:52
whatever that is, whether it's you know, anger or I don't know
00:51:54
whatever that emotion is that we get a response.
00:51:55
Whatever that is, whether it's you know, anger or I don't know
00:51:57
what, whatever that emotion is that we get we respond to in
00:52:01
another.
00:52:02
Or it might be you know the way someone looks or the way they
00:52:05
behave at the shops, or you know in a traffic jam, or it might
00:52:08
be someone in in a close relationship.
00:52:11
If there's something that bugs you, then it's something that we
00:52:19
need to look at in ourselves and dig around and go what is it
00:52:24
?
00:52:24
And actually that's a reflection of what we're
00:52:29
projecting out, right, they're reflecting it back to us and
00:52:33
that's a point of consciousness that if, through some of the
00:52:38
things I've spoken about meditation, yoga and similar
00:52:42
right supports that process and consciousness to then take us on
00:52:49
a whole new journey of, okay, well, this person is, um,
00:52:54
reflecting something.
00:52:55
Maybe it's something I need to refine in myself, but also it's
00:53:01
an opportunity to say, well, that person's, you know,
00:53:04
struggling right now and I need to hold a level of compassion
00:53:12
and, you know, one could maybe reflect back in a point in time
00:53:17
in your life that that, yeah, I was that person, or maybe I
00:53:21
still am that person, maybe I still haven't, yeah, still
00:53:25
haven't absolutely, that's absolutely holds true, but it's
00:53:29
it's recognizing you know, we're all on this journey trying to
00:53:33
navigate through life and it's recognizing in the moment.
00:53:38
Well, okay.
00:53:39
Yes, there's something I need to look at myself, but how am I
00:53:42
going to respond to that?
00:53:43
I'm still going to respond from a place of kindness, um,
00:53:47
because that's what they need to right now.
00:53:51
Yeah, this.
00:53:53
So these are simple, and I say simple practices.
00:53:56
Obviously, when we're triggered , you've really got to hold in
00:53:59
that moment, especially if it's triggering you in a way.
00:54:02
But these are practices that support our process of coming
00:54:08
into a state of balance and oneness within which then
00:54:12
reflects out into the world.
00:54:13
As you say, if we're all doing it, we're all really consciously
00:54:18
working in that way, then we would see that in the world
00:54:21
sooner, wouldn't we?
00:54:22
Yeah, it's kind of interesting when you do think of that idea
00:54:30
of like us being all parts of this one whole thing.
00:54:33
What happens in our day to can be also be a reflection of
00:54:40
what's happening in the bigger picture.
00:54:41
Right, when there's negative stuff, that that goes on, all
00:54:45
positive stuff, um, and what we see, what we focus our attention
00:54:49
on as well.
00:54:51
I had a um experience the other day.
00:54:53
So I was driving and I had a car behind me that was really
00:54:58
impatient um, it's just a, just a um, something I noticed really
00:55:04
impatient, like wanted to get past me.
00:55:07
We're on a windy road, I was behind a truck and, um, they
00:55:12
couldn't get tried to overtake on the inside, like just, and I
00:55:17
was completely calm and I was like this shit works, man.
00:55:24
You could see what was playing out, but I could also see that
00:55:31
I've in the past that would have brought up a whole bunch of
00:55:36
anger and you know, kind of, yeah, shaking my fist and I was
00:55:42
like, oh well, that part, that anger thing's gone.
00:55:46
That's good.
00:55:47
And not only that.
00:55:49
Nadine, you could probably look back at your younger years and
00:55:52
say, oh yeah, I've done that and once you may not do that
00:55:56
anymore.
00:55:57
It might have been, there might have been a time.
00:55:59
Yeah, yeah, but also, it's an opportunity.
00:56:03
Okay, this person may be having a really bad day.
00:56:06
I'm just gonna pull to one side and let them oh well, I did, I
00:56:10
did that, yeah, I did so.
00:56:12
You know there's lots of aspects to everyday life.
00:56:16
You know, uh, we, that we've.
00:56:19
We say, well, these are the types of tools to work with.
00:56:22
The all the podcasts are there and will continue to be there.
00:56:25
It's really drawing back to right here, right now.
00:56:30
What's my spiritual practice?
00:56:32
Is it yoga, is it meditation?
00:56:35
And there's a whole stream of amazing.
00:56:38
Is it sound therapy?
00:56:39
You know color therapy, is it?
00:56:42
You know art there?
00:56:44
You know whatever it is for a person, because if that's
00:56:47
supporting that person to come more into their true but any,
00:56:53
whatever the practice is, is an act of spirituality.
00:56:58
Really, that's where I'm trying to come from.
00:57:04
And so whoever listens to this and says, well, I don't go to a
00:57:07
church or I don't run energy or anything, oh, I'm a real lover
00:57:13
of nature and I participate in cleaning up the local
00:57:17
environment, I like to do that, or I am a conservationist.
00:57:21
What I'm trying to say is it's so easy to look about all the
00:57:26
negative stuff going on in the world around us.
00:57:29
There's so much.
00:57:31
There's a polarity opposite of equal, of really, really good
00:57:36
stuff going on in the world, and that's where we should put our
00:57:40
energy and say, oh well, that's, you know, I can do that, that's
00:57:44
how I can contribute.
00:57:46
You know, in my daily life, you know, and what I can
00:57:50
participate in that resonates with me and that just takes that
00:57:54
person on their journey right of opening up.
00:57:58
You know what, where that takes them, you know, and it's all
00:58:04
perfect.
00:58:05
Yeah, one uh, really simple practice which is very effective
00:58:10
is gratitude, absolutely, um, we haven't done it for a while.
00:58:15
I should bring it back, but as a family, because I think, you
00:58:20
know, let's not forget.
00:58:21
Like we can do things for the stranger, we can, you know, have
00:58:25
try and be thoughtful for the person who's angry in the car or
00:58:29
whatever, but let's start with people that we're actually in
00:58:31
relationship with every day.
00:58:34
Not forget about our kids and our partners and, um, you know,
00:58:39
other family, um, so we used to sit around the dinner table and
00:58:44
after dinner we would uh say three things that we were
00:58:48
grateful for and, uh, it makes you think about the good things
00:58:54
in your life and what gives you joy.
00:58:56
Right, and it's been proven to rewire your brain, and that is
00:59:05
an act, if you ask me, that's an act of spirituality.
00:59:08
Yes, absolutely, starts with the self, the family.
00:59:11
Yeah, gratitude.
00:59:13
Brilliant example and so easy, um, have you got anything else
00:59:19
you'd like to add before we close?
00:59:22
For today we've sort of meandered to my summary.
00:59:25
So I think we should all look at ourselves and our lives and
00:59:33
celebrate, no matter how small a gesture, action, deed, word
00:59:38
that we find ourselves doing in any given day, and we should
00:59:43
celebrate.
00:59:43
Well, this is a thread that supports spirituality in the
00:59:48
21st century, and we can recognize that in the moment,
00:59:54
and the more we all do that, the more we move forward and get to
01:00:00
that point of community unity.
01:00:02
But we're heading in that direction, so that's the good
01:00:05
news.
01:00:05
You know, we can play our part in getting there sooner, can't
01:00:10
we?
01:00:10
Yep, and co-creating that unity , consciousness on the planet.
01:00:17
Great, I'm trying to think.
01:00:20
If there's anything else I want to close with, I think I'll
01:00:25
close with just a couple of things.
01:00:27
So you know, I think previously I thought that spirituality,
01:00:32
when someone would say, are you spiritual, I would think do you
01:00:36
believe in God or do you have a spiritual practice?
01:00:40
You know, do you say prayers or whatever?
01:00:42
That was kind of what I thought , and I have a different um
01:00:46
connection with it now, um, which I won't necessarily, I'm
01:00:51
not going to go into, but for the listeners out there who
01:00:54
might feel the same way, I just wanted to kind of say there's
01:00:58
some things that you might say in your everyday life that
01:01:02
probably show that you have.
01:01:04
Well, we all are spiritual, whether you use that word or not
01:01:10
, but there are things that can happen in our everyday lives
01:01:14
where we go God, it was such a coincidence or it was real, it
01:01:21
was a real synchronicity, or feel like I've known you before.
01:01:27
Have we met deja vu?
01:01:29
Um, you know some of the sayings we say, oh, it's all part of
01:01:33
life's rich tapestry.
01:01:34
You know whatever it is?
01:01:37
Um, I think that they're kind of like inklings, that you know
01:01:42
a gut feeling, oh, I just knew.
01:01:44
Or, yeah, they're all inklings, aren't they?
01:01:49
That we have got the spirit in spirit inside us?
01:01:52
Yeah, and just to capstone that , spirituality is a journey.
01:02:01
So you're you've got going away with a different impression of
01:02:06
spirituality in the 21st century , but spirituality is a journey,
01:02:11
right, and as our own spirituality unfolds, it leads
01:02:18
us to a new understanding and I think, from my perspective,
01:02:24
we're all on the journey and we're all walking our path, and
01:02:27
we're doing it in different ways , and that's leading us to
01:02:32
higher teachings of spirituality and we're doing it in a way
01:02:37
that resonates for us is what we should be celebrating.
01:02:40
Yep, same same, but different, right?
01:02:44
Yeah, absolutely great.
01:02:47
Thank you, laverne.
01:02:48
Everyone, I hope that you've enjoyed this, um, part five of
01:02:53
guide to universal living, um, and it's giving you some things
01:02:57
to ponder about spirituality.
01:03:00
Great, okay, laverne, until next time.
01:03:05
Talk to you soon, nadine.
01:03:07
Thanks a lot, bye.
