Speaker 1: Hello, hello, it's Nadine here and I'm here with
00:00:03
this week's mini episode of Life , health and the Universe.
00:00:07
Now, I have to admit that I kind of am here today, and I've
00:00:15
been.
00:00:15
Well, part of me has been racking my brains about what to
00:00:19
talk about in this mini episode.
00:00:21
I've actually got a whole bunch of guests lined up in the
00:00:26
coming weeks.
00:00:26
I've got seven interviews booked in the coming weeks, so
00:00:30
we're going to have a whole bunch of content that we can get
00:00:34
stuck into over that time, as well as our monthly episodes
00:00:39
where I'm joined by Laverne Proctor of Chiron Spectra, where
00:00:43
we're talking about universal living in our series Guide to
00:00:49
Universal Living.
00:00:50
So there's a bunch of stuff going on.
00:00:52
I'm going to be having some great conversations with a whole
00:00:55
variety of different people authors, coaches, therapists,
00:01:02
researchers, innovators so stay tuned for those.
00:01:07
So, anyway, as I said, I've been kind of racking my brains
00:01:13
about what to talk about in this mini episode, knowing that
00:01:15
there are all these things, these interviews, coming up, and
00:01:21
so I just went.
00:01:21
You know what I need.
00:01:24
To just get back to basics, the podcast is called Life, health
00:01:30
and the Universe, and that's generally what I talk about
00:01:35
things that have been popping up in my life that are associated
00:01:38
with those three topics, because the more I live my life, the
00:01:44
more I see the interconnectedness of all of
00:01:47
those things.
00:01:48
But rather than talk about any one of those particular things
00:01:51
today, I just thought I'd give you a little bit of an update on
00:01:56
where I am with all of these things life, health and the
00:02:00
universe.
00:02:00
These topics come up in all of the conversations I have and
00:02:05
they're generally relevant to where I am in my journey.
00:02:10
Excuse me, but yeah, sometimes you kind of forget.
00:02:14
I'm definitely a bit of a sticky beak.
00:02:17
I like knowing what people are up to, but I sometimes forget
00:02:23
that I don't very often talk about myself that much.
00:02:27
So I'm going to tell you a little bit about what's been
00:02:32
going on in my life.
00:02:34
In this episode we're going to start with life.
00:02:36
I'm going to go through those three areas briefly and give you
00:02:41
a little bit of insight into what's happening right now.
00:02:45
So life, let's start with life.
00:02:47
So six and a bit, nearly seven months ago, my husband, darren
00:02:53
and I bought a new home on five acres of land.
00:02:58
So we've got some bush, which in England would be called
00:03:04
forest, and we've got lots of grass.
00:03:07
So there's lots of mowing to be done, and if you live in
00:03:11
Australia on the mid-north coast , you know exactly what I'm
00:03:15
talking about, because the grass grows as you basically turn
00:03:20
your back.
00:03:21
So at the moment, we're renovating, we've got this new
00:03:26
property that we're taking care of and we're loving living our
00:03:31
lives here and getting familiar with it.
00:03:34
It does feel full, even though we're doing all of the things
00:03:38
that we want to do.
00:03:39
We're very fortunate to be in this place right now, but life
00:03:44
feels pretty full because we're doing stuff all the time.
00:03:48
We're working so I'm podcasting , as you probably guessed, and
00:03:56
we're personal training and, as you know, if you listen to my
00:04:01
last mini episode, I shared with you that I'm also studying as a
00:04:11
self-paced course to become a GeneKey's guide.
00:04:14
If you haven't heard that episode, just check it out.
00:04:18
It's only a couple of mini episodes ago, just talking a
00:04:21
little bit about what the GeneKey's are and what I'm doing
00:04:24
with that.
00:04:24
So that's life.
00:04:27
As well as that, I have talked a little bit about our
00:04:31
homeschooling journey and what we've been learning in our
00:04:34
homeschooling journey.
00:04:35
So there may be questions that you have, like are you still
00:04:39
homeschooling?
00:04:40
Yes, we are.
00:04:41
We are still homeschooling.
00:04:43
It's definitely been a journey and one that I think has been
00:04:49
super valuable for all of us, and just in the last couple of
00:04:53
months or so, we really feel like we've turned a corner with
00:04:56
the kids.
00:04:56
There's less resistance because we've built that kind of trust
00:05:00
and that relationship back up which can sometimes be sort of
00:05:04
broken when kids are trying to find the balance between home
00:05:09
and school life and also when parents are busy it can be
00:05:14
really difficult to be present.
00:05:16
And so having we feel very, very again, very fortunate to be
00:05:22
having this experience with our kids and we're really noticing
00:05:26
the benefits of the homeschooling journey, the
00:05:31
benefits for all of us.
00:05:32
It's not always easy Sometimes, yeah, sometimes tiring, but
00:05:43
more often than not very, very, very rewarding for all of us,
00:05:49
and have absolutely no regrets and no doubts that we will
00:05:53
continue doing it for the foreseeable future.
00:05:56
So that's kind of life at the moment.
00:06:00
Health, health's good.
00:06:05
Some of you may know, if you've been listening for a while or if
00:06:09
you knew me before the podcast, I have been a crossfitter over
00:06:17
the last few years.
00:06:17
I'm actually wearing a t-shirt that I got and my kids asked me
00:06:21
today how old the t-shirt was.
00:06:22
It was a crossfit t-shirt that I had from when I went to the
00:06:25
CrossFit Games in 2009 and I was like, yeah, that's 15 years old
00:06:31
, and you might be surprised that I actually own a t-shirt
00:06:34
that's 15 years old.
00:06:35
But you know what?
00:06:36
It's one of the best t-shirts I've got.
00:06:38
It's very good quality and obviously they don't make things
00:06:41
quite the way they used to 15 years ago.
00:06:43
That's the way I see it.
00:06:46
But, yeah, my journey when it comes to moving my body and
00:06:52
being a crossfitter although I do still dabble in a little bit
00:06:56
of CrossFit style training it is less frequent, less intense and
00:07:03
much more focused on longevity, making sure that I look after
00:07:13
my body, that I stay strong, that I maintain some lean muscle
00:07:20
, that I keep my bone density strong.
00:07:22
I'm going to be turning 50 in a couple of months and, although
00:07:29
I am generally pretty healthy, we still need to take care of
00:07:33
those things.
00:07:33
They don't just happen magically.
00:07:35
Need to be conscious of that.
00:07:39
So, health when it comes to exercise good.
00:07:42
So try not to be too hard on myself and definitely don't do
00:07:51
as much and feel I can't do as much, because I just get very
00:07:58
tired Much more easily.
00:08:01
And that could be because we're doing a whole bunch of other
00:08:03
things.
00:08:04
So we're out physically moving our bodies, doing things on the
00:08:10
property as well.
00:08:13
Sleep's good.
00:08:13
I'm perimenopausal and I don't have any symptoms.
00:08:20
I consider myself fortunate in that regard as well.
00:08:24
The only symptoms I have are the irregularity of my cycle.
00:08:29
Sleep's good.
00:08:31
I follow intermittent fasting for the most part, but that
00:08:38
fluctuates.
00:08:39
I don't have any hard and fast rules.
00:08:41
I've got a couple of different episodes that talk about that,
00:08:45
which I recommend.
00:08:48
If you haven't, go and check those out.
00:08:50
I take my mouth at night to help with my breathing.
00:08:55
I'm not currently practicing regular meditation, which I was
00:09:01
for a while.
00:09:02
I just haven't found the right slot for it.
00:09:04
Food's pretty good, yeah.
00:09:09
So health is good.
00:09:10
Like I don't take any medications.
00:09:12
Oh what else?
00:09:14
I sauna semi-regularly.
00:09:16
We have a sauna at home.
00:09:18
They're all the things that we believe contribute.
00:09:23
And I walk the dog, so I'm out in nature every day getting
00:09:27
daily sunlight all of the things that I believe contribute to a
00:09:34
healthy life.
00:09:35
So that's health.
00:09:37
We've done life, we've done health.
00:09:39
Now the universe?
00:09:40
Now I was thinking about this and I was kind of like what do I
00:09:45
talk about when it comes to the universe?
00:09:47
And I think that if you've been listening to the podcast for a
00:09:52
while, you'll probably have a sense of the direction that my
00:09:56
interests are going in at the moment, and it is about that you
00:09:59
know the interconnectedness of all things and how universally
00:10:03
so many different things are connected.
00:10:05
And really opening my eyes up to that and my journey with
00:10:10
human design and the gene keys, my work with Laverne, my
00:10:14
collaboration with Laverne in the Guide to Universal Living
00:10:19
series they all point towards where I'm at with the universe
00:10:26
side of things I just remembered I wanted to go back to.
00:10:30
This is kind of a life but also a universe thing, I think.
00:10:37
So, going back to moving on to our property, in the last week
00:10:43
actually in less than a week, so I've been gardening in part of
00:10:51
the property and like with the strimmer stripping some long
00:10:54
grass back, and we came across a python snake sitting on a nest
00:11:00
of eggs which have now hatched, and so that we found the empty
00:11:05
eggs left behind, eggshells left behind.
00:11:08
I have had a close encounter with another snake, which I'm
00:11:12
not sure what it was, but it was slithering through the grass
00:11:16
when I was walking the dog last week.
00:11:18
So that was kind of hair raising because you do need to
00:11:22
be cautious of some of the snakes around here Pythons
00:11:27
aren't one that you need to be cautious of.
00:11:28
We've had a python in our garage gym in the last couple of
00:11:33
weeks and we've also had a guana in the tree right next to
00:11:39
our house.
00:11:39
So a guana, for those of you who don't know, is a type of
00:11:43
rather large lizard.
00:11:44
So these are like reminders to me that you need to be cautious
00:11:55
Don't take things for granted, because things could change
00:11:58
dramatically very quickly if something happened with a snake,
00:12:03
for example.
00:12:06
But also for us to connect with nature, and perhaps maybe the
00:12:11
more I connect with nature, the more I see to remember that we
00:12:16
are living alongside all sorts of different animals, whether we
00:12:22
see them or not, and we can.
00:12:26
I think this is kind of like a metaphor that we can live side
00:12:32
by side with each other, with other animals, peacefully.
00:12:41
This is kind of like the message that I feel has been
00:12:45
coming through when it comes to the universal stuff, and, yeah,
00:12:55
that sometimes there's things going on that we don't see, but
00:13:01
they're still there.
00:13:01
That's kind of the message I've been getting, with those little
00:13:08
reminders the snake showing itself, the lizard showing
00:13:11
itself.
00:13:12
Yeah, they're just those little reminders that there's a bigger
00:13:18
picture.
00:13:19
There's a lot of stuff going on that we don't see, both good
00:13:25
and bad, but we can live alongside one another in harmony
00:13:31
.
00:13:33
I'm going to sign off for now, but before I go, I'd like to
00:13:37
invite you to have a think about those three areas of your life
00:13:43
life, health and the universe.
00:13:46
What's been happening?
00:13:47
How are you feeling about it?
00:13:48
You love in life?
00:13:49
I hope you are.
00:13:51
Are you taking care of yourself ?
00:13:54
I hope you are, and have you got anything that's happened in
00:13:58
your life that might just be a sign from the universe?
00:14:03
Try and stay tuned into that too.
00:14:06
All right, I'm going to love you and leave you.
00:14:09
Thanks for listening.
00:14:10
I'll see you again next time.
00:14:11
Bye for now.
